Hinto.dev (“Hinto”, “we”, “us”), based in Germany, provides a desktop assistant and this website. This Policy explains what we collect, what we do not collect, and how we handle your data.

2. What We Do Not Collect
Meeting content stays local. We do not transmit or store your screen, audio, or call content.
No advertising trackers and no data resale.
3. Information We Collect
- Purchase & billing (via Gumroad): Email, billing country, VAT/tax details where required, transaction and invoice data. Payment details are processed by Gumroad as merchant of record.
- Support: Emails and metadata you send to info@hinto.dev to resolve your requests.
- Website analytics & logs: Vercel Analytics (pages visited, device/browser, coarse location from IP). Basic server logs for security (IP, user agent, request metadata).
We do not collect in-app usage telemetry or capture content from the desktop application.
4. How We Use Information
Deliver and support the product, including license issuance and updates.
Process payments and tax compliance through Gumroad.
Respond to support requests and maintain security and reliability.
Understand website performance via aggregate analytics.
5. Legal Bases (GDPR)
Contract: to deliver your license and support the service.
Legitimate interests: to secure our website and prevent abuse.
Legal obligation: to meet accounting, tax, and compliance requirements for purchases.

7. International Transfers
Some providers (Gumroad, Vercel) may process data outside the EU. They use recognized transfer safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
By using Hinto, you consent to transfers to countries that may have different data protection rules. We implement safeguards and limit processors to those needed to operate the service.
8. Retention
Billing and invoice data are retained for periods required by tax and accounting laws.
Support emails are kept for up to 24 months after resolution unless law or enforcement needs require longer.
Security logs are retained briefly, then deleted or anonymized.
We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or to comply with legal obligations.
9. Security
Data in transit is encrypted (TLS). Access to support mailboxes and dashboards is restricted to authorized personnel. No meeting content leaves your device.
11. Marketing
We do not run advertising-based tracking. If we send product updates or marketing, you can opt out at any time via unsubscribe or by emailing info@hinto.dev.
12. Your Rights
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

13. Regional Disclosures
India: We rely on consent, contract, and legitimate interests to process data. You can request access, correction, deletion, and withdrawal of consent (subject to legal requirements).
Africa (e.g., POPIA/NDPR/Kenya DPA): You may request access, correction, deletion, and object to processing; cross-border transfers use safeguards such as contractual clauses where required.
Mainland China: Hinto is not directed to users in Mainland China. Do not use Hinto if PRC data export approvals or localization would apply to your data.
14. Children
Hinto is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
15. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and post the revised policy here. Continued use after the effective date signifies acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the site and product.
